to Work is to Pray

I like to clean.  I can not rest in chaos.  I can’t share or breathe in it.  I am not highly organized or methodical, but I will work until a sense of calm enters a space, whether it is my apartment, my patient's rooms, my patients themselves, my life.  Not in guilty busy-ness, but for the pleasure of stewardship.  Living out responsibility for what you have been given in your job, in your home, health, diet, exercise, entertainment, community, and relationships.
This is prayer, not in requesting, but doing and living.  It creates life.  And something right is propelled and fed.
