I once was lost but now I am found:

I know my time in Illinois is necessary.  I know all I am learning there, in and out of school, is preparing me for what lays beyond the Mississippi river.  But lately I feel I am loosing touch with the girl that got all her belongings down to two bags.  I have accumulated things and lost the smell of wind in my hair reminding me that I am from somewhere else.  So when the opportunity came to jump a plane to Hawaii, I felt I owed it to my hair to replenish its wind, and revisit one of my beloved islands and friends.
So here is my week in review:
Found a ticket Friday, arrived in Kona Monday night.

Day 1: Tuesday
Breakfast at Lava Java.
Walked Alii Dr (Kona Inn and Queens Bath)
Met Karen and Leslie for an afternoon Mate Late, at Lava Java of course:
Kona Brew Pub for Dinner, a must.
And after dinner coffee at Lava Java.
Day 2: Wednesday
Breakfast with Will and Rae at Lava Java (love my old men!!)
Visited YWAM campus to check out how my landscaping has grown and tasted the fruits of my labor. (We planted Mango, Passion Fruit (Lilikoi), Figs and Papaya)
Sushi on the Kona Inn wall. Karen's Rukus; my transport for the week.
Met Karen at LJ for our afternoon Mate Late date
Dinner at the park with old and new friends and again after dinner coffee at LJ.

Day 3:  Thursday
Breakfast at LJ
Walked Alii Dr. Aloha, Mahalo and all that...
Joined Karen after her LJ shift.
Back to her place for a nice Lanai dinner on a rainy Kona evening with our old friend Jack Johnson serenading us.
It was a great Kona week, thanks to all my friends and of course LJ and Kona Coffee!!!
Can't wait to do it again in 19 months...
