strangers I pass on the sidewalk of a Kentucky rest stop.
You renew my mind- quieting my voice and its equal parts of arrogance and insecurity.
Cause in your presence your perfection outshines my greatest shortcomings,
and we drive on…

1,000 Spring Breaks
This was our road trip to fortify promises and talk out our thoughts over the miles of highway 24 E.
Each tree I passed knows your name from Illinois to Tennessee.
They grow upwards, towards you rooted and focused.
Some in crowds
Some all alone
Some so big and bold and preserved in the middle of a field leafless and naked but ageless and proud.
And we drove... with a check engine light haunting my thoughts but your pervasive presence overriding it.
You are the rest of 1,000 spring breaks
And the glisten on my skin.
I traveled to the deepest comforts and emerged with the glow of your secrets.
You clear my eyes and steady my head as though I were worthy of standing tall and generously giving my smile to
strangers I pass on the sidewalk of a Kentucky rest stop.
You renew my mind- quieting my voice and its equal parts of arrogance and insecurity.
Cause in your presence your perfection outshines my greatest shortcomings,
and we drive on…

you are so gentile. you have a way of making everything soft, delicate, beautiful and yet so real and true. you truly speak from a woman's soul. A soul that knows who she is and reflects outwardly.
it was nice to talk to you today. i am sorry....sometimes i feel like i fill conversation with silly stories just to fill time. its like i am nervous to talk to you as if you were a stranger. somehow i can't bare my soul...and yet other times it is all i do. i hope next time we talk i can give you more of me and not waste space with my silly fillers. i appreciate you so much for all your genuine real elegance and simple strength. you are perfectly beautiful....wish I could talk to you and see you all the time to glean from your presence. miss you always. as jenn says you further God's kingdom with your "pen" or with your words of expression. So lovely, Edera, so lovely.
